Insights for a topped out Quality Measure-Admission of Behavioral Health Patients

Inpatient screening practices within the first 3 days of admission for 5 components are reported by facilities participating in TJC’s Hospital Based Inpatient Psychiatric Services (HBIPS). Because many facilities do well on this quality measure (HBIPS-1), it is said to be “topped out”. But can it still provide useful information? This month, MHO takes a look at what we can learn from this topped out measure.
